This seminar focusses on Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. Entrepreneurs are a rare species. At the same time, they are a major player in enhancing competition in markets. Entrepreneurs play, thus, an important role in innovation-driven economies, for innovation, economic growth, productivity, and for the creation of new jobs. They are also important agents of economic change. Against this background, in this seminar, we will investigate how internal and external factors influence the behavior of entrepreneurs and the performance of their firms. Participants of the seminar will write a 15-page seminar paper making use of the provided literature and present the most important results of their essays in the seminar. Exemplary topics are:
